The media often portrays the violence as simply a conflict between farmers and cattle herders. 

Faith in the Fire, produced by the international Christian aid agency Barnabas Aid, corrects this false narrative. Most importantly, the documentary shows how Nigerian believers continue to hold fast to their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ in the face of this extreme violence.

*Who are the persecutors?*
Christians in Northern and Middle Belt Nigeria suffer relentless attacks by Islamist terrorist groups such as Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province.

Christian farming communities in the Middle Belt also endure violence from extremists within the Muslim-majority Fulani people group. Fulani militants frequently attack Christian communities, slaughtering the inhabitants and destroying their homes and churches.

At least 45,000 people have been killed. Some analysts suggest the death toll might be as high as 90,000. Only the Lord knows the exact figure.

Thousands of churches have been destroyed, and entire Christian communities displaced.
