BlueJay @BlueJayYT takes a humorous and satirical look at the dark history of the papacy by exploring the term "body count" through the lenses of papal deaths, murder rates, and sexual escapades. The video highlights bizarre and scandalous historical events, such as the rapid and sometimes violent turnovers that led to multiple popes claiming the title in a single year, the extreme corruption of the teenage Pope John XII, and the infamous Cadaver Synod where Pope Stephen VI exhumed his deceased predecessor to put his corpse on trial. Furthermore, the video delves into the severe breaches of celibacy by pontiffs like Pope Alexander VI, who notoriously hosted an orgy known as the "Banquet of Chestnuts" inside the Papal Palace. Ultimately, the video illustrates that while many popes were virtuous, the long and powerful history of the Catholic Church is also deeply marked by wild misconduct, nepotism, and bizarre power struggles.
