Jesus always had crowds clamoring for him, yet early and often he purposely stepped away to spend time in solitude. Jesus models the importance of escaping the noise of everyday life, to connect with the Author of Life. Our heavenly Father still speaks, but his voice is hard to hear in the noisy chaos of culture. Solitude isn’t something to fit in if you can find the time and space. Solitude is the priority everything else gets built on and around.
