Why does America still support Israel? What are the real reasons behind American support for Israel? This 1Dime documentary explains the history of U.S–Israeli relations, showing that Israel wasn't always America's ally, let alone it's "greatest ally." Starting from foundation of the state of Israel in 1948, to the various American presidents who challenged Israeli policy, and how the US went from reluctant support to an "unbreakable alliance" due to various factors. Most importantly, we take a depe dive into The Israel Lobby, growing influence of institutions like AIPAC, Christian Zionism, and the factors as to why Israel exerts an immense level of control on US foreign policy, and why US poltiicians don't challenge Israel. Along the way, I analyze the question of wheather Israel is a "US Proxy" and challenge the notion that it is in the "strategic interests" of the United States to support Israel. Finally, I end by analyzing would take to change U.S. foreign policy toward Israel and Palestine.
