In 19th-century France, a young girl named Thérèse Martin enters a Carmelite convent in pursuit of a life devoted to faith, sacrifice, and spiritual devotion. Based on the life of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux — also known as “The Little Flower” — this acclaimed French drama follows her emotional and spiritual journey from childhood to sainthood.

The film explores Thérèse’s struggles with illness, doubt, humility, and unwavering belief as her writings and legacy begin to inspire millions around the world.

Born in 1873, Saint Thérèse of Lisieux became known for her “Little Way” — a philosophy centered on finding holiness through small acts of love, kindness, and humility in everyday life. Though she died at only 24 years old, her autobiography Story of a Soul transformed her into one of the most influential spiritual figures of the modern era. She was canonized in 1925 and later declared a Doctor of the Church by Pope John Paul II.
