Join us for our Erev Shabbat service We will be going through the weekly teachings from Monte Judah. Terumah, meaning "Offering," is the Torah portion in which the LORD instructed Moses to take an offering from the children of Israel and gather 13 materials: gold, silver, and copper; blue, purple, and red-dyed wool; flax; goat hair; animal skins; wood; olive oil; spices; and gems. Out of these materials, God tells Moses, "They shall make for Me a Sanctuary, and I shall dwell among them." The LORD gave Moses detailed instructions for constructing the Ark of the Covenant, the Mercy Seat, the Table of Showbread, and the Menorah. He then instructed Moses how to build the rest of the structure around the Holy Place and Holy of Holies, followed by the altar for burnt offerings and the curtain around the outer court. Moses is given the instructions to build this tabernacle so that it could be readily dismantled, transported, and reassembled as the people journeyed in the desert.
