THE BOOK OF GENESIS: The World Before the Flood | Bible Anime Movie

God looked at everything He had made and called it very good. Ten generations later, all the fountains of the great deep burst forth.

In Part 1 of the Book of Genesis anime movie, Moses tells the story he set down in writing, covering Genesis chapters 1-11 in one continuous telling. "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." God finishes His work in six days and rests on the seventh, and the account turns from the heavens to one garden and one man. The LORD God plants a garden in Eden, and the man and his wife are one flesh and unashamed, until the serpent comes with a question. They are sent out, a whirling sword of flame guards the way back, and outside the garden Eve bears two sons, Cain and then Abel. Then Moses unrolls a longer record: "This is the book of the generations of Adam."

The earth becomes corrupt and full of violence, and the LORD regrets that He has made man, but Noah finds favor in the eyes of the LORD. The fountains of the great deep burst forth, the floodgates of the heavens are opened, and the waters rise until all the high mountains under all the heavens are covered. God remembers Noah, the dove returns with a freshly plucked olive leaf, and God sets His rainbow in the clouds as the sign of His covenant. Noah's sons become seventy nations, and on the plain of Shinar a whole people builds a city with a tower that reaches to the heavens, until the LORD comes down, confuses their language and scatters them over the face of all the earth. ???? HISTORICAL CONTEXT IN THIS MOVIE:
• The Hebrew word for Noah's ark, tevah, appears elsewhere only for baby Moses' basket (Exodus 2:3, 5).
• "Regretted" in Genesis 6:6 is nacham, the same root Lamech used for "comfort" when he named Noah (Genesis 5:29).
• "Remember" appears for the first time in Scripture at Genesis 8:1, and God is the one remembering.
• The flood's day counts mirror around that verse: 7, 7, 40, 150, then 150, 40, 7, 7.
• The Hebrew for "let us confuse" (navlah) is the word for "brick" (levenah) with its first three consonants reversed.
