???? The Chronicles of Saul – The Last Night (2026) | Biblical Short Film | The Witch of Endor
King Saul, Samuel, the Witch of Endor, Jonathan, David, Mount Gilboa, the Philistines, Jabesh-Gilead, the First King of Israel, 1 Samuel, Old Testament, Holy Bible.
This short film tells the story of the night the first king of Israel asked heaven for an answer — and, when heaven stayed silent, went knocking at the one door God had forbidden.
???? Faithfully inspired by the biblical accounts of 1 Samuel 28 and 31: the silence of God, the king in disguise, the house in Endor, the prophet who rose from the earth, and the last morning on Mount Gilboa.
On one side of the valley, the Philistine camp burned with hundreds of fires. On the other, Saul’s army had only a few — and a king who could no longer hear the voice that had once chosen him.
He asked the priests. The Urim did not move.
He asked the prophets. They lowered their eyes.
He asked God. And God did not answer.
So the man who had driven every medium out of the land gave a new order to his servants:
“Find me a woman who speaks with the dead.”
That night, the king of Israel took off his crown. He let the royal mantle fall to the floor, put on the rough wool of a common man, and crossed the valley in the dark — close enough to the enemy fires to hear them laughing — until he reached a small stone house with a single lamp burning behind the door.
Inside, a frightened woman. A circle of earth in the middle of the floor. And a question no king should ever have to ask:
“Bring up Samuel.”
What rose from the ground was not what she expected. It was an old man, wrapped in a mantle — the same prophet who had anointed Saul, and the same mantle Saul had once torn with his own hands.
And Samuel had only one more word to give him.
Tomorrow.
This is not a story about a medium. It is the story of a king who had everything — the crown, the army, the people, a son as loyal as Jonathan — and lost it one small disobedience at a time, until the only voice left to answer him came from the grave.
A night of fear. A word of judgment. A mantle lying in the mud of Gilboa.
And, in the end, a few brave men from Jabesh-Gilead who still remembered what Saul had once been.
Every scene was crafted with the intention of bringing viewers closer to what is written in the Word… giving form to the invisible, without distorting its essence.
???? SAUL — The King Who Lost His Voice Before He Lost His Crown
He was chosen… above all the people.
He was warned… again and again.
And on his last night… he went looking for a prophet among the dead.
