Guest preachers at New Birth Church continue to be a major problem, and this sermon from Linston Page is another example of why people need to pay attention. In this video, I break down a message preached for Jamal Bryant and explain why so many of the voices platformed at New Birth raise serious concerns. When churches consistently bring in guest speakers who are more focused on performance, hype, personality, and emotional manipulation than sound doctrine, it reveals a deeper issue with leadership and direction. This is not just about one sermon. It is about a pattern.

New Birth has built a reputation over the years for platforming big personalities, controversial figures, and messages that often generate more excitement than biblical substance. That should concern any believer who cares about truth. The pulpit is not supposed to be a stage for entertaining crowds, promoting celebrity culture, or delivering catchy lines that sound powerful but do not hold up under biblical examination. The church should be a place where Scripture is handled carefully, Christ is exalted rightly, and people are fed with truth. But too often, what we see instead is a culture of applause, theatrics, and shallow preaching.
In this video, I take a closer look at Linston Page preaching at New Birth for Jamal Bryant and why this kind of sermon reflects everything that is wrong with the direction of that church culture. When a guest preacher is celebrated more for style than substance, and when emotional delivery becomes more important than faithful exposition of Scripture, people can walk away stirred up emotionally without actually being grounded in the Word of God. That is dangerous. A loud sermon is not necessarily a biblical sermon. Strong delivery is not the same thing as sound doctrine.
One of the biggest problems with many guest preaching appearances like this is that they often reinforce the exact issues already present in the church: man-centered teaching, leadership glorification, entertainment-driven ministry, and a lack of serious biblical accountability. Instead of calling people to repentance, holiness, reverence, and faithful discipleship, the focus can shift to charisma, crowd reaction, and protecting the brand of the church. That should not be normal, and believers should not accept it just because the room is energetic or the preacher is well known.
