The last two years have stretched my patience and faith in such a way that I can confidently tell you the deeper the suffering, the closer to God you get. It wasn’t just one trial or sin problem, it was different types of ongoing sin that I was dying to as well as extremely unfavorable circumstances that were out of my control. I was getting hit at every angle but by the grace of God, I did not give up. Now I am here to say that HE will pull you out and bring you through whatever storm you are in but you need to align your heart and attitude to be in complete surrender to Him and His leading otherwise you will remain in a feeling of being stuck.
1 - let go of the timing
The heart of submission says “I trust your timing Lord”.
During the wait our patience grows and our faith grows.
We are humbled in that we must release the concept of our own preferred timing.
The temptation is to give up but enduring through this time in faith and obedience is going to be totally worth it when you see where God brings you.
Embrace the reality God knows the timing of all things for your life, good and bad.
2 - value the suffering
You have an opportunity to draw upon the Lord for all that which you lack and experience a supernatural peace and joy.
You become less reliant on your ability to navigate life.
You become closer to the character of Jesus.
The suffering breaks us open so that unhealed wounds can be touched and healed by Jesus.
3 - share your burdens
Release pride and guilt around asking for help and prayer.
Put yourself out there and get involved with other believers because it is going to be a huge support.
Don’t be attached to the title of whoever God brings your way to help you through the storm. Listen to the Holy Spirit when you feel as though you are meant to link up with someone.
The story of Joseph reveals to us that elongated times of suffering are used to test our character and when we endure with faith & obedience, God restores and elevates us in amazing ways.
Don’t give up. You have God on your side and He loves you.
